I am pleased to announce the Canadian Arab Institute Leadership and Excellence Awards, which recognize the outstanding achievements of community leaders who embody the genius of Canadian multiculturalism.
In our third year of operation, having established the Canadian Arab Institute as an important voice on public policy, cultural understanding and community engagement, we find it timely to honour community leaders.
We honour leaders who embody the values and goals that echo our own. We recognize outstanding achievement in individuals who demonstrate leadership in ways we aspire to reach ourselves in all aspects of community life.
On April 4th, 2016, CAI will host its first awards gala and we will be honouring Mary Jo Haddad and Sheldon Levy. Mary Jo for the excellence with which she built an illustrious career as a leading advocate of children’s health. Sheldon for his leadership in multiculturalism and inclusion, as manifest in the university he built to reflect the city that cradles it.
Our hope is that this occasion will serve to not only honour, but also to inspire greatness and leadership in all of us.
