“30 Under 30” is a recognition of young Arab-Canadians who are empowering and making a difference in their community.

This recognition spotlights professionals and students in all fields, including but not-limited to: education, law, public service/politics, non-profit, business, entrepreneurs, engineers, medical professionals, artists, entertainers, writers, and media representatives.

How do I get recognized?

The process of selecting this year’s “30 Under 30” begins with self-nominations. All nominees should be over the age of 16 and under 30 as of April 1, 2023. Nominees should excel in their industry/field and be engaged in promoting their heritage and culture, empowering their communities, and making a difference. The competition is open to all professionals and students who live and work or study in Canada and are of Arab descent. If you are a newcomer, your achievements before your arrival to Canada will be considered.

Nominees can complete an online application of their background and achievements. A judging review panel will determine the finalists. All information submitted to The Canadian Arab Institute will remain confidential.

Winners will be announced by the end of Arab Heritage Month (April), and given a certificate and feature on the Canadian Arab Institute website.

Why 30?

The Canadian-Arab community is quite a young community. According to the 2021 Census, about two-thirds of Arab-Canadians are younger than the age of 30.  This contest is in recognition of how talented and inspiring Arab youth are.
