Land Acknowledgement

The Canadian Arab Institute acknowledges that our main office is located on the traditional territory of many Nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples, and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. This land is part of Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit. We also acknowledge the many Fist Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples across Canada.

As an organization rooted in the experiences of Arab communities in Canada, we recognize the deep and ongoing legacies of colonialism, displacement, and resistance that connect Indigenous and racialized communities. We are committed to learning from Indigenous knowledge systems, standing in solidarity with Indigenous sovereignty, and working toward a more just and inclusive future.

We invite all who engage with our work to reflect on their relationship to the lands they live on and to the Indigenous peoples whose histories and futures are deeply tied to them.
