Arab-Canadian Demographics

The Arab population in Canada has more than tripled between 2001 and 2021, reaching 795,665 people (about 2.2% of the population), and is projected to grow to between 1.4 and 1.9 million by 2041. Historically, most Arab immigrants came as economic migrants, though since 2015 refugees have become the largest group due to conflicts in the Middle East. In 2021, Arabs in Canada were highly concentrated in major cities, especially Montréal, followed by Toronto and Ottawa–Gatineau, with over three-quarters living in just six metropolitan areas.
